Above the equator
The sea has receded
In this desert land
the girl
the injured girl
with her knees
a song
She keeps revolutions in her pockets
She has the lot of the Russia of Love and other countries
My daughter
Lake, with your name clearer than words
You who I have never hit
The soil devotes itself to you

Η θάλασσα έχει υποχωρήσει
Σε αυτή την έρημη γη
το κορίτσι
το χτυπημένο κορίτσι
με τα γόνατά του
τραγούδι
Έχει στις τσέπες επαναστάσεις
Έχει τον κλήρο της Ρωσίας, της Αγάπης και άλλων χωρών
Κόρη μου
Λίμνη με το όνομα σου πιο καθαρό από λέξεις
Εσένα που ποτέ δε χτύπησα

The Poet
Thanos Gogos was born in Larissa in 1985. He is the founder of publishing house and literarymagazine Thraka,and the co-founderand director of the Thessalian Poetry Festival. He has published two poetry collections: Frontier Playground (Farfulas, 2013), Glasgow (Thraka,2014), and Dakar (Melani, 2020). His poems have been published in various electronic and physical literary magazines and have been translated in 8 languages. In 2015,he participated in 2nd Young Writers Festival at the International bookfair of Thessaloniki, organized by Hellenic Foundation of Culture. His works appeared in the New Voices of Greece , anthology, which was published by Hellenic Foundation of Culture and presented in the 67thFrankfurt Book Fair. He is a member of Versopolis network and Poets’ Circle

Ο Θάνος Γώγος γεννήθηκε στη Λάρισα το 1985. Είναι ποιητής, εκδότης του περιοδικού και των εκδόσεων Θράκα και συνιδρυτής και διευθυντής του Πανθεσσαλικού Φεστιβάλ Ποίησης. Έχει εκδώσει 3 ποιητικές συλλογές “Μεταιχμιακή Χαρά” (2013) Γλασκώβη (2014,2019) και Ντακάρ (2020).
Ποιήματά του έχουν δημοσιευτεί σε πολλά λογοτεχνικά περιοδικά και έχουν μεταφραστεί σε 8 γλώσσες. Το 2015 συμμετείχε στο 2ο Φεστιβάλ Νέων Λογοτεχνών στη Διεθνή Έκθεση Βιβλίου Θεσσαλονίκης και στην ανθολογία “New Voices of Greece” που παρουσιάστηκε από το Ελληνικό Ίδρυμα Πολιτισμού στην 67η Διεθνή Έκθεση Βιβλίου της Φρανκφούρτης. Είναι μέλος του Ευρωπαϊκού δικτύου Versopolis και του Κύκλου ποιητών.
