Leo Luceri was born in 1961 in Martano, a municipality in the Grecìa Salentina (Grika-speaking minority in the province of Lecce), he spent a good part of his life working and studying abroad.Graduated in Foreign Languages and Literatures, he obtained a PhD in Comparative Literature at the Universidad Autónoma of Madrid.He taught Italian in France and Switzerland, worked as an Italian lecturer in various foreign universities (Quito, Madrid, Bratislava) and was a teacher of French language in higher education institutions in Italy.He has published literary criticism articles in specialized magazines and the book of poems Catumerèa – multilingual verses south of the south (Musicaos Editore, 2022).His poems and reviews are featured in various online magazines.Some poems in Griko are finalists in the 2020 national Save your local language award.One of his poems won the Grecìa Salentina Literary Prize in 2021.He writes mainly in Italian, but also in Griko and, occasionally, in Spanish.
