Salvatore Tommasi was born in Calimera (Lecce) in 1950.
Laureate in Philosophy and in Foreign Language and Literature, after a research experience at the State University of Moscow, he taught Philosophy and Science of Formation in the Secondary School.
He published in 1988 a book of poetry, Le mie bandiere (Firenze Libri). For years he has been involved in the recovery and valorization of the Greco-Salentine language and culture, to which he has dedicated numerous publications. Other publications in Italian: i romanzi Sarakostì (second edition, Argo 2019), Semi d’anguria (Esperidi, 2021), e la raccolta di racconti per ragazzi I tesori della cassapanca (Ed. Kurumuny, 2015).
