You held the little girl by the hand
And me by the other hand

And I held
the trees
the lake
the animals

All through that Winter

Κρατούσες το κοριτσάκι από το χέρι
Κι εμένα από το άλλο χέρι

Κι εγώ κρατούσα
τα δέντρα
τη λίμνη
τα ζώα

Όλον εκείνον τον Χειμώνα

We now have so much to say
We all hold a stone

And we drive among the crowd
Lost road, you play tricks

You are everything that stands now
You hold I speak I throw I laugh

And I keep on laughing
Though you leave for another place

Έχουμε τόσα πια να πούμε
Κρατάμε όλοι μία πέτρα

Και οδηγούμε μες στο πλήθος
Χαμένε δρόμε κάνεις κόλπα

Είσ’ όλα όσα τώρα στέκουν
Κρατάς μιλώ πετώ γελάω

Και συνεχίζω να γελάω
Όσο κι αν φεύγεις σ’ άλλο τόπο

The hardest breast of all
was made from a small flower

Whatever you break on it now
it will exude
only

Thanos Gogos was born in Larissa in 1985. He is the founder of publishing house Thraka, and the main editor of Thraka Magazine, one of the partners of the international literary residencies project Ulysses Shelter, and the co-founder and director of the Thessalian Poetry Festival (Πανθεσσαλικό Φεστιβάλ Ποίησης). He has published three poetry collections: Frontier Playground (Farfulas, 2013), Glasgow (Thraka, 2014), and Dakar (Melani, 2020). His poems have been published in various printed and online magazines, and have been translated into over ten languages. His book Glasgow was translated into Croatian and published by Sandorf in 2021. His poetry appeared in the New Voices of Greece anthology, published by the Hellenic Foundation of Culture, and presented in the 67th Frankfurt Book Fair (2015). His poems were included in many anthologies and he presented his work in numerous festivals and book fairs in Greece and abroad. He is a board member at the Poets’ Circle, member of the Greek PEN Centre and Project Manager of Versopolis in Greece.

Ο Θάνος Γώγος γεννήθηκε το 1985 στη Λάρισα. Είναι εκδότης του λογοτεχνικού περιοδικού και των εκδόσεων «θράκα», ιδρυτής και διευθυντής του Πανθεσσαλικού Φεστιβάλ Ποίησης και Project Manager του Ευρωπαϊκού λογοτεχνικού προγράμματος λογοτεχνικών διαμονών Ulysses Shelter. Το 2013 κυκλοφόρησε η πρώτη του ποιητική συλλογή Μεταιχμιακή χαρά, εκδ. Φαρφουλάς, το 2014 η ποιητική σύνθεση Γλασκώβη, εκδ. Θράκα(2019 β έκδοση, εκδόσεις Sandorf, 2020, Κροατία) και το 2020 η ποιητική σύνθεση Ντακάρ από εκδ. Μελάνι, (δίγλωσση έκδοση) και από το πολιτιστικό κέντρο Μάριμπορ, Σλοβενία. Το 2015 συμμετείχε στο 2ο Φεστιβάλ Νέων Λογοτεχνών, στο πλαίσιο της 12ης Διεθνούς Έκθεσης Βιβλίου Θεσσαλονίκης και στην ανθολογία “New Voices of Greece“ που εκδόθηκε από το Ελληνικό Ίδρυμα Πολιτισμού και παρουσιάστηκε στην 67η Διεθνή έκθεση Βιβλίου Φρανκφούρτης. Ποιήματά του έχουν δημοσιευτεί σε έντυπα και ηλεκτρονικά λογοτεχνικά περιοδικά και έχουν μεταφραστεί σε 10 γλώσσες. Έχει συμμετάσχει σε πολλές ανθολογίες και φεστιβάλ ποίησης στην Ελλάδα και το εξωτερικό. Είναι μέλος του Δ.Σ. Κύκλου Ποιητών και project manager για την Ελληνική πλευρά του Δικτύου Versopolis. Διαμένει στα παράλια Λάρισας.
