PRESENTATION
Antonis D. Skiathas was born in Athens in 1960 and nowadays he lives in Patra. He studied Chemical Engineering with postgraduate studies in Art Restoration. He is a poet, anthologist of poems and literary critic. Antonis Skiathas has published 12 poetic books. Poems of him have been included in Greek and international anthologies, and have been translated into 15 languages. His articles and essays on poetry and history have been published in journals and newspapers. He is a member of the Greek Society of Writers and the Poets’ Circle. He was co–director of the literary journal Ελί–τροχος during the ’90s. He founded and is the administrator of the cultural action “Grafeíon Poiíseos”, Poetry Awards “Jean Moreas”, Culture Book https://www.culturebook.gr/and he is president of Greek Library of London.
In 2020 he was selected depart med of culture in the European Union EUNIC, in order to represent Greece as a poet in the UK. He teaches poetry in the postgraduate program “Creative Writing” ( University of Western Macedonia – Aristotle University of Thessaloniki), he also teached poetry in the postgraduate program “Creative Writing” ( University of Western Macedonia – Open University of Greece).

Ο Αντώνης Δ. Σκιαθάς γεννήθηκε στην Αθήνα το 1960 και σήμερα ζει στην Πάτρα. Σπούδασε Χημικός Μηχανικός με μεταπτυχιακές σπουδές στην Συντήρηση Έργων Τέχνης και στη Δημιουργική Γραφή. Είναι ποιητής, ανθολόγος και κριτικός λογοτεχνίας. Έχουν εκδοθεί 12 ποιητικές συλλογές και άλλα βιβλία του. Ποιήματά του έχουν μεταφραστεί σε 15 γλώσσες ενώ έχουν συμπεριληφθεί σε ανθολογίες στην Ελλάδα και στο εξωτερικό. Άρθρα και δοκίμιά του για την ποίηση, την ιστορία και την εκπαίδευση έχουν δημοσιευτεί σε εφημερίδες και περιοδικά. Είναι μέλος της Εταιρείας Συγγραφέων και του Κύκλου Ποιητών. Συνδιηύθυνε το λογοτεχνικό περιοδικό “Ελίτροχος” στη δεκαετία του ’90. Στη συνέχεια δημιούργησε και διαχειρίζεται το “Γραφείον Ποιήσεως” , τα Βραβεία Ποίησης “Zαν Mορεάς” το Culture Bookhttps://www.culturebook.gr/και είναι πρόεδρος της Greek Library of London.
Το 2020 επιλέχθηκε από τον φορέα πολιτισμού στην Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση EUNIC, να εκπροσωπήσει την Ελλάδα ως ποιητής στο Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο. Διδάσκει ποίηση στο Διατμηματικό Μεταπτυχιακό Τμήμα Δημιουργικής Γραφής του Πανεπιστημίου Δυτικής Μακεδονίας και του ΑΠΘ και στο μεταπτυχιακό πρόγραμμα «Δημιουργική Γραφή» (Πανεπιστήμιο Δυτικής Μακεδονίας – Ελληνικό Ανοικτό Πανεπιστήμιο)

for the broken rocks of the Black Sea.
Only the Crucified hears
the moaning of the sea.
The wind scatters at the shores
heirlooms of the ancestors.

Detached
the intestines of the Universe.
The city is threatened
the light is thrown down into tunnels
of brave hoplites.

Η διαθήκη/φύλλο πρώτο
Δεν έχουμε τίποτα
πουλήσαμε και το νερό,
νομάδες στην ιλύ της νήσου Μήλος.
Μας εγκατέλειψαν τα παιδιά.
Μας περονιάζει η φωτιά
και ο καημός
για τα σπασμένα βράχια του Εύξεινου.
Τους αναστεναγμούς της θάλασσας
ακούει μόνο ο εσταυρωμένος.
Ο άνεμος σκορπίζει στις ακτές
προγόνων τα κειμήλια.
Χαρτιά που ο ήλιος εφρυγάνισε
ξεκόλλησαν
τα σωθικά του σύμπαντος.
Η πόλις απειλείται
το φως κρημνίζεται σε σήραγγες
ανδρειωμένων οπλιτών.
Η πόλις απειλείται
τις προγραφές εμπέδωσαν
οι συγγενείς
ευνοούμενων ποιητών.
Η πόλις απειλείται
τα ανοίγματα στο έδαφος
θυμίζουν την ισχύ μας.

Of Love

Centuries the song begins:
moon beams on the white–washed wall
fortify your breast,
an Andalusian armor
for all those who sealed storerooms —
lavender, thyme,
wild flowers of sage,
from our shared sunbeams
on the island of Symi.
They agreed on the light,
they agreed on the salt,
they agreed on the moon
descending upon the apple trees,
nestling in the foliage
to ripen fruit.
They agreed on assignment of shipwrights
to line the ark’s hull with leather,
to bestow the rank of captain,
the tasks of seamen and crew,
in the new cataclysm.

Της Αγάπης
της Σ.Γ.Χ.
Αιώνες που αρχίζει το τραγούδι
η σελήνη, στον ασβέστη της μάντρας,
το στήθος σου πυργώνει
ανδαλουσιανή αλατόπετρα,
σε όσους στέγνωναν κοιτώνες,
η λεβάντα, το θυμάρι, τα άγρια άνθη
του φασκόμηλου,
απ’ τις ομόκεντρες
αντηλιές μας στη νήσο Σύμη.
Συμφωνήσανε το φως,
συμφώνησαν το αλάτι,
συμφωνήσαν το φεγγάρι,
να κατηφορίζει στις μηλιές,
να κρύβεται στο φύλλωμα
να γίνεται ώριμος καρπός.
Συμφωνήσανε να ορίσουν τους καραβομαραγκούς
για να πετσώσουν το σκαρί της κιβωτού.
Να στέψουν συμφώνησαν
τον πλοίαρχο, τους ναύτες και το πλήρωμα
του νέου κατακλυσμού.
Οι μοίρες μας, αλίμονο
τα συμφωνήσανε πολλά.
Εμείς όμως
δίχως υπογραφές
χωρίς συμβόλαια και συμβολαιογράφους,
ν’ αγαπηθούμε πέπρωται.
